LinkedIn’s Phantom Job Problem, Vibe Coding, Black Mirror Szn 7
We're defrosting and catching you up on the latest.
Black Mirror Season 7 dropped this past week and a few episodes inadvertently conjured up some problems experienced on LinkedIn from throttling access to non-subscribers to phantom job postings. On the positive side, the future is bright with Gen Alpha’s ideas and Vibe Coding. What I’m into and Things you should check out. Welcome to my unfettered opinion.
Let’s get into it.
Vibe Coding 101

So.. What is Vibe Coding?
It’s creating an app or website without the use of coding software by utilizing AI tools ( mainly on private permissioned networks)
What the What?
Earlier this month I volunteered at NYC’s CS Fair 2025, an event where high school students around the 5 boroughs learned about the future of technology and AI. I spent time in the No Code Builder area at the Ideation Station, helping close to 600 students create MVP’s of app ideas.
The ideas were good, from Scooter Eats and new finding friends within Fortnite to compositing outfits according to mood, it was fun seeing the creative concepts and helping with no-code solutions, especially the young women who are venturing into STEM.
For example, a student wanted an app to play Guess a Country’s Flag, and the app was launched in less than an hour. You can play it here: |

Thanks to Gotham Gives and Tech.NYC for producing the event.

What I’ve been up to
![]() Black Mirror Season 7 I love this series and have been around for the ride since the beginning. It’s cautionary, dark, and dense. I love the cautionary tale of technology and often the fantastical. This season there were a few episodes that stood out (Hotel Reverie (E3), Common People (E1 - though it did remind me of Upload on Amazon). | ![]() Guess who’s back |
📺️ My favorite episode of the season has to be Bête Noire, which is one of the few femme focused episodes of BM. What’s different about this episode is that it works so well in subtle layers where no one is in the right by any perspective. Not to spoil this one but this episode feature layers of problems with and between the characters of Maria and Verity, also features a cameo from Linkedin), and.. highlights Netflix’s AI capabilities within variant storytelling which can be an indicator for future programming choices.
🎬️ Freaky Tales - Pedro Pascal, Normani, Jay Ellis and a couple of other surprise cameos are in this slice of life supernatural-esq anthology set in 1987 Bay Area. Unfortunately the distribution was sparse for it. When I saw it, it was on a single screen with 4 show times, at my show the theatre was about 70% full. Hopefully its on streaming soon. |
